Năm 2020, dù chịu ảnh hưởng của dịch COVID-19 nhưng ngành gỗ và sản phẩm gỗ vẫn đạt kim ngạch xuất khẩu trên 13 tỷ USD, trong đó thị trường Hoa Kỳ đạt hơn 7 tỷ USD, tăng trưởng 34% so với năm 2019. Số liệu cho thấy doanh thu của nhóm sản phẩm nội thất tại Hoa Kỳ năm 2020 đạt 115 tỷ USD và dự báo sẽ đạt mức 143 tỷ USD trong khoảng 5 năm tới. Như vậy, thị trường đồ gỗ, nội thất và thủ công mỹ nghệ thế giới, đặc biệt là Hoa Kỳ dự báo sẽ tăng trưởng tốt và còn nhiều dư địa để doanh nghiệp Việt Nam nâng cao thị phần. Năm 2020 cũng chứng kiến sự gia tăng mạnh mẽ của kênh bán lẻ qua thương mại điện tử, với mức tăng doanh số bán lẻ thương mại điện tử ở mức 27,6% trong khi doanh số bán lẻ toàn cầu lại giảm 3%. Và vì vậy, tỷ trọng của Thương mại điện tử bán lẻ trong tổng doanh số bán lẻ sẽ ngày càng gia tăng, dự đoán từ mức 12% năm 2018 sẽ đạt 18% năm 2021.
