According to statistics of the General Department of Customs, in the first 11 months of 2021, Vietnam’s W&WP export turnover reached US$ 13.361 billion, up 21.1% over the same period last year. In which, export turnover of wood products reached US$ 9,985 billion, up 17.6% y-o-y, accounted for 74.73% of total W&WP export turnover.
In the first 11 months of 2021, W&WP sector ranked 6th in turnover value among Vietnam's export products/groups of products, and had a trade surplus of over US$ 10,653 billion in W&WP import and export activities.

Vietnam's exports of W&WP in November 2021 continued to increase sharply, reaching over US$ 1.272 billion, up 33.8% over the previous month, and an increase of 2.94% compared to November 2020. In which, wood products reached US$ 915 million, up 47.7% compared to October 2021 and down 8.94% over the same month last year.
W&WP export turnover will continue to increase in the last month of 2021 and January 2022 due to high global consumption demand at the end of the year, and Vietnam export enterprises boost production capacity to fulfill signed contracts.
Export markets
In November 2021, the export turnover of W&WP to most of the staple markets increased sharply. In which, the three largest markets are China, the United States and Japan, respectively, increasing by 14.95%; 41.78% and 8.88% over the previous month. And increased strongly in the UK, Canada, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Taiwan... especially the French market increased by 108.89% compared to the previous month; Belgium increased by 110,74%; Saudi Arabia increased by 107.96%.

In the first 11 months of 2021, the United States continuously maintained as Vietnam's largest W&WP export market and also the strongest growth market among staple export markets: reaching nearly $US 8.0 billion, accounting for 59% of the total W&WP export turnover of the country. The following two markets, China and Japan, also achieved a turnover of over 1 billion USD, up 26.28% and 11.23% respectively over the same period last year.
Besides, export turnover to the UK, Malaysia, and the Netherlands also increased strongly. On the contrary, export turnover to Australia market decreased slightly by 2.82% and increased slightly to Korea, Canada, Germany and France.
